Classic Car Soft Tops

Without wishing to put a hex on the whole thing, Spring is here at last! New life is breaking out all around us so why not breath some new life into your classic soft top ready for the summer? If you are the proud owner of an MGB, Mercedes 107 or 113 or even an old Jaguar convertible or any other classic soft top then NOW is the time of year to have your replacement convertible roof fitted!

'Why is this?' I hear you ask! The sun is not yet strong enough for many of you to be brave enough to have the Convertible hood down. Well if you have your new soft top roof fitted now then you will have a month or so of weathering time for your soft top. When ever we fit a new soft top we always recommend that it remain closed, or up, for as long as possible after fitting. This is to allow the material to weather to the frame as, sometimes, the hood frame on older cars (not new) is slightly twisted and this settling time allows the hood to recover to its original state.

So if you have your hood fitted now, by the time you want to have your soft top down in the late spring the weathering period will be over and you can enjoy many summers trouble free soft top enjoyment.
